A New Direction: Announcing Sensat’s Data Partnerships

Since Sensat was founded in 2017, there have been many evolutions to improve the quality, scale and scope of offerings provided to our customers.
Today, I'm writing to share an update: Sensat will be transitioning away from in-house data acquisition, in favour of utilising a network of trusted strategic data partners. By making this change we are able to scale our operations, connect our customers with our partners that offer the latest technology and focus resources on our mission: to build a digital co-pilot for reshaping the physical world.
Sensat’s History in Data-Capture:
Sensat was a pioneer in the UAV industry, seeding what has become a thriving and mature marketplace. We were the first in the UK to achieve Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) flights over land, and tackled some of the most ambitious infrastructure projects imaginable including the M25, and Heathrow Airport expansion.
Our initial foray into data-capture was driven by a clear need: provide high quality geospatial data to our customers, to ensure our software was a truly impactful visualisation tool. At the time, the market couldn't deliver the specific, high-quality datasets our customers demanded, so we built that capability ourselves with an in-house data-capture team.
But now, almost 10 years after Sensat was founded, the data acquisition landscape has fundamentally matured. A robust marketplace of specialist providers now exists, companies whose sole focus is excelling in data-capture and delivering best-in-class services.

The shift towards building and utilising a trusted partner network enhances our ability to connect our customers with high-quality, diverse data collection services that complement our best-in-class data visualisation platform.

We have data partners based globally who offer the latest technology to give our customers new capabilities through unique data products.
- Global reach - as we expand into new regions, such as the US, this strategic shift will enable our customers to access the same high-quality data that our customers in the UK have come to expect. This will enable us to expand quicker and more efficiently.
- Building a world-class platform: This strategic evolution of how we enable data acquisition for our customers, allows Sensat to concentrate our resources on the development of our platform - ensuring that we continue to be a world-class solution and able to embrace the latest advancements in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to convert that value to our customers.
We have forged strategic partnerships with leading data-capture specialists in the UK and US, and we anticipate announcing our initial partnerships in the coming weeks. This carefully curated network will ensure our customers benefit from cutting-edge technology, a wider range of data acquisition capabilities, and deep expertise.
