New Civil Engineer on Sensat’s role in front-loading data for Severn Trent

New Civil Engineer covered Sensat’s work with Severn Trent to apply digital twin technology to front-load project data, supporting improved delivery of capital infrastructure projects.

September 30, 2024

Sensat introduced its digital twin infrastructure software into Severn Trent’s approach to capital delivery, allowing project teams to consolidate diverse datasets into a virtualised environment before on-site activities begin. This front-loading of information helps reduce uncertainty early in the planning process by giving engineers and decision-makers access to a coherent digital context.

Sensat’s platform supports the visualisation of site conditions and constraints by integrating geospatial data, underground utilities and design files to inform feasibility assessments. Utilising digital twins in this way aims to strengthen decision-making, reduce rework and enhance collaborative planning across water infrastructure projects.
